Strong Showing in October for Padgett Campaign

Raised over $95,000 in October – 2nd Most Successful Fundraising Month of Campaign

Knoxville, TN – The Mark Padgett for Knoxville City Mayor campaign (www.VotePadgett.com) today announced a fundraising total of $515,629.41. The campaign raised $95,295.00, making October 2011 the second most successful fundraising month (after raising over $114,000 in June 2011). The campaign currently has $58,883.46 cash-on-hand.

“As we head towards Election Day, I want to thank each and every one of my supporters,” said Mark Padgett. “Between phone calls and door knocks, our dedicated volunteers and interns have helped our campaign make another 6,000 voter contacts since September 27. And every dollar of investment has allowed me – as a first-time candidate – to reach voters with my plan to create jobs and strengthen neighborhoods. The primary proved that every vote counts. My campaign is going to continue to work every minute of every day to get folks out to vote. Knoxville’s next mayor must be focused on growing our economy and cutting wasteful spending – it’s the only way we can afford to invest in neighborhoods and improve city services. I’m ready to work with the community to move Knoxville forward.”

The official report will be filed – and available online – with the Knox County Election Commission on November 1, 2011.
