Press Release: Padgett Kicks Off Mayoral Campaign February 10th, 5:30 at L & N Station

Knoxville, TN - “I encourage everyone to come out on the 10th,   so I can get to know them,” said Padgett. “I don’t expect anyone to just give me their vote, I want to earn it. This is a great opportunity for people to feel me out and tell me what they expect from their next mayor.”

The event is free and open to the public. It will feature food, fellowship and local entertainment, including Preston Johnson who recently performed at the MLK Leadership Awards Luncheon.

Padgett is particularly excited about hosting the event at the L & N Station.“The L & N is one of the greatest historic properties in Knoxville and its being put to an innovative new use with the STEM School. This is symbolic of all the progress Knoxville is making and I commit to continue this type of progress as Mayor.”

Padgett hopes the event at L & N will be a good way to begin his campaign in earnest. “We’re coming off a great fundraising period, with people really excited about the campaign. Whether you want to know more about me or you want to talk about Knoxville’s future or if you just want to come and have some time to fellowship with your neighbors, I hope everyone will come out for the Kick-off.”

Padgett, a successful small business owner who worked with Governor Phil Bredesen to make state government more accessible, is seeking a full term as City Mayor. He will use his experience to attract jobs, make city services better and more accessible, make Knoxville neighborhoods stronger, more interconnected places to live, and continue the progress of downtown.
