Knoxville News Sentinel: Padgett opens base for race

EXCERPT:

…On the wall behind the table where guests registered were campaign photos of Padgett alongside his father, Mike Padgett, when he ran for the old Knoxville city school board in 1984 and his first run for county clerk in 1986, and his late grandfather, Bill Padgett, when he ran for Knoxville City Council in 1960.

Those races were successful for young Padgett's family, and the message was obvious on Saturday that he wants to join them on the wall as successful officeholders. So far, he's facing former Community Development Director Madeline Rogero and former County Commissioner and City Councilman Ivan Harmon in the nonpartisan Sept. 27 primary.

Other items on the wall included an early 1800s map of the city, black and white photographs of the courthouse when it was the seat of county government and memorabilia of the 1982 World's Fair.
