WBIR: Knoxville mayoral candidates discuss financial reports

Today was the deadline for Knoxville mayoral candidates to file financial reports with the Knox County election commission.

Mark Padgett leads the group with the amount of cash on hand. He reports $171,000 in the bank as of June 30th.

Madeline Rogero's campaign said they have $86,000 in contributions on hand.

Ivan Harmon has a little over $14,000 dollars to spend.

Joe Hultquist's report indicates he has $8,925 dollars.

Looking a little closer at this quarter, Mark Padgett's campaign took in $146,865. He said he thinks it's because people really agree with his vision for a growing Knoxville. "Growing jobs and the economy is the number one thing we're looking at, but also making sure our neighborhoods are safe and strong and well connected," explained Padgett.

…The primary election is set for September 27th. The general election is November 8th.
